Workshop: Invasive Species Mapping and Data Management

The Remote Sensing Center at the Naval Postgraduate School is continuing its series of remote sensing workshops this summer. This summer's workshop will host a panel of esteemed experts presenting on the area of Spectral Imaging. The workshop will focus on Applications of Hyperspectral and Multispectral Imaging to Terrestrial and Marine environments, including a discussion on Atmospheric Compensation techniques.

The workshop is scheduled for Thursday, July 17^th from 0800 until 1600 at the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute located in Moss Landing, CA. This series has been developed with the intention of building a stronger remote sensing community in the Monterey Bay area. The workshops are intended to be educational for the attendees, particularly the students, and to provide networking opportunities for all. Potential sponsors for remote sensing research have been invited.

The workshops are designed to focus on technologies appropriate to the problems of marine and terrestrial remote sensing delivered by engaging area experts. Speakers from outside the Monterey Bay community have been invited to discuss current work in remote sensing. We also have invited software vendors to present applicable analysis tools.

Registration for this workshop is free, but seats are limited. The workshop flyer announces some of the specifics. If you are interested, please save the date and register for the conference by utilizing the following link RemoteSensingCenter.org and clicking on the 2008 Spectral Imaging Application Workshop. Registration will officially open by the close of business day June 16^th , 2008.* *If you have any specific questions or comments, please feel free to contact me at your convenience.
